Eredità Cromatica - Sun Woman

The Eredità Cromatica (Chromatic Legacy) collection transforms the artist’s father’s secret drawings into glass sculptures. A dialogue between generations where sketches inspired by the 20th-century avant-garde come to life in the fire of Murano. A tribute of love that transmutes the silence of paper into the eternal voice of glass.
WOMAN OF THE SUN. This artwork embodies the fullness and dazzling warmth of the lagoon's summer sun, when the light reverberates relentlessly off the water and time seems to stand still. This refined sculpture, crafted in blown glass combined with solid elements, rests on a sturdy body—a block of solar yellow that radiates an intense and enveloping luminosity, just like the fiery afternoons spent among the calli and fondamenta.
Rising from this solid base is a face with delicate and deeply asymmetrical lines, enriched by colors achieved through submerged polychrome glass sheets (veline), which bestow unique depth and nuances upon the glassy material. On one side, jet-black hair flows down like a dark wave, in stark contrast with the bold, fiery red lips. Completing the piece are arms of intense red and blue that impart movement, as if suggesting a gesture of greeting, or perhaps of protection against the glare and the heat.
