WOMAN ON THE BEACH. This figure is born from a drawing of just a few strokes, where the hat is like a web of filaments that seem to catch ideas before they vanish into the waves. Here, no gestures are needed: the power lies entirely in the sharp line of the triangular shoulder—a bold geometry resting on a block of massive, deep, and calm blue, the same blue of the canals when the city sleeps.
Born in Murano in 1963, Mario Furlan grew up in continuous contact with the world of Artistic Glass of Murano Island, as his father Walter was a renowned Master Glassmaker.
After graduating from the Venice State Institute of Art, Mario then enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice from which he graduated with honors.
