Born in Valona in 1942, Luigi Voltolina arrived in Venice at the age of two, with the repatriation of his family. After graduating in Graphic Arts at the Venice Art Institute, he worked for a brief time at the Toso Brothers Glass Factories in Murano.

Within the factories, he encounters the Murano world for the first time, as well as the prime substance that is handled on the Island: Glass.
During the following years, spent between Rome, Spain, New York and Venice, the opportunities to create Murano glass works were numerous: starting from the early ‘80s, he gathered connections with the glass factories of the Island with the intent to give life to Glass Sculptures, availing himself over time of the collaborations with the most qualified Glass Masters such as Loredano Rosin, Pino Signoretto, Walter Furlan, Mario Dei Rossi.

The latest productions, based on pictorial concepts representative of his own poetics, are achieved with the help of Master Mario Furlan, whose artistic partnership is confirmed by decades of fruitful collaboration.
