Aristide Najean

Born in France in 1959, Aristide Najean has painted on every kind of support and with all types of materials.
At the age of 17 he starts working as designer for an advertising agency of Poitiers and, subsequently, as engraver at the atelier of Maurice Felt in Paris.
He discovers Murano glass when he turns 27 years old: a glassblower Master welcomes him in his workshop, teaching him the rudiments of the Muranese technique. He finds an expansion to his painting work through this sculptural activity; glass becomes his evident expression.
Sole French artist on the island with his own glass shop, he composes and manufactures his glass, by guiding his glassblower Masters and artisans with energy and enthusiasm.
His imagination, his color palette, his research and numerous drawings create an original and poetic opera, organic pieces, unique, custom made and personalized, perfectly integrated in their environment.
Thanks to the profitable collaboration with Philippe Starck, met in Murano in 2008, Najean fulfills projects at Royal Moncenau in Paris, at Palazzina G in Venice, at Paradis du Fruit, in Le Meurice, at Mori Venice Bar in Paris, at Amo and at Quadri in Venice.
His work has captured the attention of designers, collectors and international architects such as Jean-Michel Wilmotte, Patrick Jouin, Sanjit Manku, Vincent Darré, Bruno Moinard, L’Eclaireur of Paris, La Fondation Valmont, Julian Rincon.
